Rose Anna Chiovitt

Rose Anna Chiovitt (Southard) 83 years old went home to her eternal home on Monday July 30, 2018 at South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside, NY where she also came into this world on February 20, 1935, with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Henry A. Southard and Roseanne Southard (O'Brien). She joined her husband, the late Peter H. Chiovitt whom she loved and had known since she was 16 years old and loved him until her last breath. She was the second of four children and the only girl. She was predeceased by oldest oldest brother Henry A. Southard, Jr. and two younger brothers Charles and George Southard and their wives and a Christian grandson Kenneth A. Campbell. Mrs. Chiovitt was very active in the UCP auxiliary and instrumental in working on a bill that would prevent the ^aging out^ of our disabled children. She went to Albany and met with then Governor Mario Cuomo. She also met with Senator Carol Berman on the subject and later worked on her re-election campaign. She was a longtime fundraiser. She worked for NY State tax dept. and before having a family worked at the then Bell Telephone and also Liberty Mutual Insurance. As far as we were concerned, she was the greatest wife, mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother and a firend to all. She is survived by her children Peter J. Chiovitt and his wife Caroline, her daughters Diane M. Campbell and her husband Kenneth and Debra A. Chiovitt. She is also survived by grandsons Sean Montross and his wife Catherine, Joshua Montross, Justin Montross, Brandon Campbell, Brian Campbell and his wife Jana and greatgrandchildren, Jade Montross, Jackson Krencs, John Campbell, Caterina Campbell, Kayann Campbell, Zachary Campbell, Cole and Jacob Campbell, Justin Pagano, Jacob Pagano, and great great grandsons twins Owen and Noah Pagano.
