Alejandro Santos Mendez

Alejandro Santos Mendez, a man of

simple words with much wisdom. Family

was of the most importance. He taught

us all how to live and how to die. Life

was about music, family, honor,

integrity, hard work, and ELEGANCE.

He had the most contagious laugh

known to our family. He would laugh on

his own, even in the middle of painful

experiences, reminding himself and

others that happiness only comes in

moments and gratitude is the way to

experience it. He welcomed everyone

into our family.

He told the best story about his life,

especially about his childhood. He

always spoke about moments of

adventure. His stories entertained the

critics in the family and taught us all life

lessons through story telling.

He was a provider, protector, widower,

father, grandfather, and great-

grandfather. A widower to Juana A

Reynoso Santos. He had five children:

Jose Manuel, Teresa, Alexandra,

Vanessa, and Lisandro. He was a proud

father. He was the grandfather to Julian,

Fausto, Jose, Luis Manuel, Jose del

Carmen, Manuela, Jose Maria, Jimmy,

Sophia, and Shia. He was the great

grandfather to Jadiel, Januel, Jose

Enrique, Jazlyn, and Mikael.

Born in the Dominican Republic,

Alejandro played the Guira in his

family’s musical group. He was the

backup singer to his father: “Fellito

Santos” and siblings: “El Bocho” and

“Cucullo”. The Santos Family played

Merengue Tipico for generations. Music

was part of his essence. He migrated to

the United States in the mid 80’s hoping

to find a better way to provide for his

children. He always thought about all of

his children and took responsibility to

help each child.

Alejandro had a strong faith. His life

taught us that a simple, small prayer

had power as God heard all prayers. He

believed in the Sacred heart of Jesus

and the intercession of the Virgin Mary.

Every time he saw one of his children,

he would bless his child and their

vehicle. Praying for our protection and

the protection of our vehicles.

Strengh was his defining characteristic.

He faced all adversities with spiritual

strength, relying on his faith and second

on family values. He surprised us all

with his spiritual strength and courage.

We will say to him what he said to us

when saying goodbye to his loved ones:

“it was a pleasure knowing you”. It was

a pleasure to have been part of your

family, Alejandro. It was a pleasure to

have been your child. God blessed us

with your presence Alejandro Santos

Mendez.

God blesses all of us!!!!

Alejandro Santos Méndez, un hombre

de palabras sencillas, pero de mucha

sabiduría. La familia era de mayor

importancia. El enseñó a su familia a

vivir y a morir. Música, familia, honor,

integridad, trabajo fuerte y ELEGANCIA

definiría su vida. Alejandro tenia una

sonrisa contagiosa.

familia.

Alejandro contaría cuentos increíbles y

de mucho entretenimiento sobre su

vida, especialmente sobre su niñez.

Siempre hablo de experiencias llena de

muchas aventuras. Hablar con él, era

como vivir una novela. Las aventuras y

anécdotas complacerían al peor critico

de la familia. Sus vivencias estarían

llenas de lecciones en la vida.

Alejandro era un hombre que vivía para

proveer y proteger a su familia. El fue

padre, abuelo, bisabuelo. Era viudo de

Juana Reynoso Santos. Era padre de

José Manuel, Teresa, Alexandra,

Julián, Fausto, José, Luis Manuel, José

del Carmen, Manuela, José María,

and Mikael.

carro. Pedía protección para sus hijos y

para el carro que manejáramos.

Fuerza y valentía definieron su vida.

Confrontó las adversidades de la vida

cara a cara. Siempre se apoyó en la fe

en Dios y luego en los valores de su

familia. Nos sorprendió a todos con su

fortaleza espiritual y su amor por la

familia. Hoy te despedimos come te

despediste de nosotros: “Fue un placer

conocerte”. Y también añadimos fue un

placer haber sido uno de tus hijos. Dios

nos bendijo a todos con tu presencia,

Alejandro Santos Méndez.

Que Dios te siga bendiciones en el

cielo. ¡¡¡¡Que Dios nos siga bendiciendo

siempre!!!!
