Alice Aretakis

Alice (Katsus) Aretakis, 87, passed away at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, CT on April 23, 2012.

Born in New York City in 1924. Married her beloved husband Michael in 1947 who predeceased her in 1996. Loving Mother of son Anthony M. Aretakis of Mystic, CT and of daughter and son in law Anna and George Possas of Hicksville, NY. Beloved Grandmother of four, Diana Trovato and husband Giovanni, Alison Faye Johnson, Constantine Possas, Michael Aretakis and Great Grandmother to Alexander Johnson and Martina Trovato.

Alice leaves behind three sisters, Chris Ginos of San Diego, Ann Katopis of Clearwater, FL, Cathy Segallis of Clearwater, FL, and brother Mike Katsus of San Rafael, CA. At one point, all five siblings lived at "Top of the World" in Clearwater, FL.

Alice was a resident in Brooklyn until she and her husband retired to Clearwater, FL. Shortly after her husband's passing she moved to Ahepa apartments in Groton, CT.

She was an active bowler in her day. She loved playing cards, mah jongg, and bingo.
