Barbara Ann Owens

Barbara Ann Owens passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, surrounded by the family she so lovingly raised. Born on January 28, 1938 in Flushing, New York. She married Alban E. Owens when she was 24 years old. They were married for almost 37 years until Al’s passing.

As she and her family settled in Baldwin, Barbara found a way to join her love of singing and family by becoming the Leader of Song at St Christopher’s RC Church — a role she filled and loved (especially presiding over weddings) for forty years. As her life in Baldwin grew, so did her own family. She has three loving daughters, Donna, Karen, and Jennifer. Through them she gained Tarquin, Gary, and Dan as sons.

Barbara loved children and was overjoyed when her daughters blessed her with each of her 9 grandchildren. That joy compounded as the years continued and she also gained 9 great grandchildren. Being a mother, a nana, and a gigi were her greatest talents. She was always loving, always kind, and always a phone call away. Barbara left behind the most wonderful inheritance of all — a large, loving family.
