CARLTON E BAUSCH JR. - Thank you! Carlton Edward Bausch, Jr., 87, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2017, with his family by his side. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Towers Funeral Home in Oceanside, New York. Carlton was born February 25, 1930, in Oceanside, New York to Carlton Sr. and Mildred Bausch. His father was a Licensed Land Surveyor. Carlton graduated from Oceanside High School and earned his Bachelors at Norwich University in Vermont. After graduation, he entered the service where he met and fell in love with his wife, Susan Dean Shaw. Married in November,1954, they resided in Long Beach before settling down in Baldwin. Carlton, like his father and brother before him, was a licensed Land Surveyor who , until recently, was actively practicing his craft. Carlton was an member of the Nassau-Suffolk Civil Engineers as well as the New York Association of Professional Land Surveyors. Carlton's interests, aside from the latest land surveying techno gadgets, included spending time with his family, boating, (particularly air boating), the environment, birding and Point Lookout. Until recently, he would spend hours riding his bicycle around Hempstead State Lake Park. Carlton is survived by his loving children, Karen (California), Jeffrey (Linda) Holbrook, NY., Vickie (NY), and Eric, Baldwin, NY, grandchildren, Jeffrey (Christine), Timothy, Julie and Christyl and his great grandchildren Connor and Tyler. Carlton is predeceased by his parents, Carlton Sr. and Mildred, brother James, wife Susan and precious grandson, Bryan. A private service for the family will be held at Towers Funeral Home in Oceanside, New York on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Burial at Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, NY., will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, do something nice for someone today. Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of Nature. Hug your loved ones and tell them how much they mean to you. Life is too short.
