In Loving Memory of Carmine Angelo Convertino
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Carmine Angelo Convertino, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, whose generous spirit and humor left an everlasting mark on all who knew him. Born in the Bronx, NY, to the late Michael and Beatrice Convertino, Carmine was predeceased by his brother Dominic Convertino.
He is survived by his devoted children, Daniel, Rachel, and Leah, and their mother, Amy, who were the lights of his life. Also surviving are his cherished brother, Michael Convertino, and his beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored. His family meant everything to him, and his love for them was boundless.
A proud Italian, Carmine always ensured there was food on the table and laughter in the air. He loved great music and was rarely without the radio playing, filling the room with his favorite songs. A lifelong Yankees fan, he cheered on his team with unmatched passion and pride. Every evening at 7pm, you could find him faithfully tuned in to Jeopardy!, a tradition that brought him joy and connection.
For over 25 years, Carmine proudly served the city of Long Beach as a bus driver. Known for always being early and greeting everyone with a smile, he was celebrated for his kindness, warmth, and genuine care for others. Carmine’s dedication to his work and his community extended far beyond his job—he often helped those in need, including feeding the hungry and offering support to the homeless, embodying compassion and selflessness.
Carmine had an extraordinary gift: the ability to truly be present with those around him. Whether sharing a conversation, a meal, or a quiet moment, he made you feel seen and valued. He found joy in simple pleasures—a kind gesture, a shared laugh, or savoring life’s quiet moments. Material things never mattered to him; what he cherished most were the relationships he built and the love he gave to others.
Carmine’s unwavering faith guided his life and relationships. A calming presence and a source of wisdom, he offered strength and encouragement to anyone in need. His legacy is one of laughter, kindness, and love—a life lived with purpose, rooted in the values of family, friendship, and faith.
Carmine’s laughter, stories, and ability to bring joy will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor his memory by making a donation in his name. Contributions will be used to create memorials at meaningful spots along his bus route and to support charitable efforts for those in need within the Long Beach community—continuing the spirit of generosity that defined his life. Donations can be made to the Carmine Convertino: A Life of Kindness and Service GoFundMe page.
