Caroline Majid, age 94, of Oceanside, New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22nd.
Born on May 22, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, to Ysmael and Aurora Paz, Caroline lived a life defined by deep faith, steadfast devotion, resilience, and unwavering love and pride for her family. She was born and raised in Brooklyn and later settled in Oceanside, New York, where she lovingly built and nurtured her home and family.
She married the love of her life, Joseph Majid, Sr. Together they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Their 51-year marriage was a true testament to enduring devotion, profound commitment, and lifelong partnership.
Throughout her remarkable 94 years, Caroline was known for her strong faith, sharp wit, toughness, inner strength, and fierce loyalty to family and friends. She found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved—entertaining, solving puzzles, going to church, having weekly meals with her lifelong friends, and volunteering with her Homemaker’s group. Many will fondly remember her handwritten Christmas cards, her quick sense of humor, and her famous grape leaves, leg of lamb and rice pudding – all made with love and tradition.
Her greatest pride and life’s work was her family. She is survived by her sister, Adele Venezia, her three sons: Joseph and wife Kim; Steven and wife Felicia; and Craig and wife Lori. She was a devoted and proud grandmother to Chelsea and husband Matt; Matthew and wife Savannah; Lexi; Cory and wife Taylor; Emilee; Lauren and Kyle. She was especially blessed by her great-grandson, Wyatt.
Caroline was dearly loved by her siblings and extended family, including her brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents; and her siblings: Ysmael (Ace), Manny, Dolores, Madaline, Margaret, and Robert.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. We take comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with her beloved husband and those who have gone before her.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Towers Funeral Home in Oceanside, New York. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Oceanside, New York, on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
