Catherine Christiansen

Kay Christiansen passed away on July 16, 2018 in her home in Oceanside N.Y. her two daughters where by her side as she passed in her sleep.

Kay was born in Brooklyn N.Y. where she met her first husband Daniel Flaherty they were married for 22 years and had four children, Peggy, Billy, Loretta and Cathy until Daniel passed away from cancer.

After a few years she married a dear friend from Brooklyn, Russell Christiansen, they lived many years in N.Y. before Russell retired and they moved to Holiday Park.

They truly loved Holiday Park and made many dear friends with whom they went on trips, played cards and had parties.

In 2000 mom brought down her mother who enjoyed her last four years in sunny Florida, until she died in March of 2004. Mom and Russ come up to N.Y. again in October when Russ got sick and passed in December of 2004.

Mom loved Holiday Park so much she stayed there on her own until I moved down in 2011 because I felt she was getting sick and I didn’t want her to be alone. We moved back to N.Y. in 2013 to be closer to family.

Mom missed Holiday Park very much in her last five years and was looking forward to moving back down to be near her son in The Villages. Unfortunately she did not make it but died in the house she owned since 1950. She will be buried on July 20th at Pinelawn cemetery in N.Y. with her first husband Daniel and her second husband Russell (cremated).

My mother had a wonderful life and died in peace knowing she was loved very, very much.

My mother was survived by four children, five grandchildren Daniel, Peter, Grant, Dennis and Caitlin and four great grandchildren, Hana 14, Jackson 4, Nora 2 and Lynx 7 1/2 months. She will be missed more than I can say.
