Charles P. Albanese

In loving memory of Charles P. Albanese, 77, who passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on May 18, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, he was raised in a close-knit Italian family, growing up just steps away from his relatives. He was shaped by deep family bonds, loud Sunday dinners and cherished traditions and deep appreciation for his heritage.

Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was defined by selflessness, hard work, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. For 57 years, he shared a loving marriage with his beloved wife, Dorene, building a family that remained the center of his life.

A man of quiet strength, Charles was not one to express himself through many words. Instead, he showed his love through his actions—through endless sacrifices, steadfast support, and tireless devotion to his family. His greatest concern was always the well-being of those around him, and he took pride in ensuring that his loved ones were cared and provided for.

Charles spent more than 50 years in the automotive industry, both owning and working at car dealerships. Known for his remarkable work ethic and commitment to serving others, he worked six days a week until the age of 76. He valued the relationships he built with his customers and always sought to treat them with honesty, respect, and care.

A faithful parishioner of St. Christopher’s Church in Baldwin, Charles regularly attended Sunday Mass and proudly served as an usher for many years. His faith was an important part of his life and was reflected in the kindness, humility, and generosity he showed to others.

Outside of work, Charles had a passion for antique automobiles. He took great pride in his three antique cars and enjoyed participating in car shows, where he shared his enthusiasm and knowledge with fellow collectors. His prized vehicles were even featured in well-known films, including Annie and The Cotton Club, a distinction that brought him great joy. He could often be seen cruising around town in his Thunderbird convertible with his wife, enjoying the simple pleasure of time spent together.

Above all, Charles cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Dorene; his loving children, Charles, Stephanie, and Nicole; his cherished grandchildren, Tommy, ToniAnn, Tedi, CJ, and Alessia; his adored great-grandchildren, Emma, Ella, Remi, and Rocco; and his loving sisters, Georganne, Laura, and Jean Marie.

Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, perseverance, and generosity that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness, dedication, and quiet strength.

His family takes comfort in the countless memories they shared and in the example of a life well lived.
