Charles D. Parker, 82, of Dix Hills, New York, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025. Born on August 22, 1942, in Washington, North Carolina, Charles was a devoted father, grandfather, and beloved member of his community.
Charles proudly served in the United States Navy before beginning a long and dedicated career with UPS. Starting as a truck driver, he advanced through management and retired at the age of 52. He was known for his strong work ethic and leadership.
An avid golfer and sports enthusiast, Charles shared his love of athletics with his family, coaching football and roller hockey when his sons were young. He cherished watching his sons and grandchildren compete in a variety of sports, including football, wrestling, competition cheer, ice hockey, and lacrosse. He often spoke with pride about his grandchildren’s athletic achievements at both the high school and college levels.
Above all, Charles was defined by his generosity. Whether through his time, volunteering at the senior center, or financial contributions to causes such as the Wounded Warrior Project, his kindness extended far beyond his family. His generous spirit touched friends, neighbors, and even strangers.
Charles is survived by his sons Michael and John; daughter-in-law Jeannine and grandson Michael (16); daughter-in-law Lisa and grandchildren Cole (19), Natalie (17), and Dylan (15); as well as nieces and nephews. He joins his beloved wife Fran, daughter Francesca, and sister Barbara in eternal rest.
