Chester Howard Taylor

It is with heavy hearts that we share of the passing of Chester Howard Taylor (aka Chet), a beloved husband, brother, uncle, brother in-law, cousin and friend to so many. He left us peacefully on July 29, 2025, at the age of 78 surrounded by his wife, his twin brother, and loving extended family. He was born on February 27, 1947, and spent his life dedicated to his family and loving partner/wife of over 28 years. A retired chef at various corporate venues and restaurants in the tri-state area, Chet was known for his kindness, corny sense of humor, and loving nature. Known as “Zen Master” to his family and friends, he touched the lives of countless individuals, bringing joy, enrichment, and positivity to their lives with his infectious calming spirit.

His love of family, photography, music, dancing, laughter, good food (cooked by him most times), and all he encountered will live on through our memories. Chet was not only an extraordinary professional, and human being, he was a devoted and caring husband to his wife Rose Cervone-Taylor, older twin brother, Charles Taylor who he leaves behind, including cousin Walter Evans, aunt Theresa Sanders, uncle Walter Taylor and a large extended family of sisters and brothers in-law who love him as one of their own, as well as nephews, nieces, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

He also leaves behind the “A Team” of caregivers, and therapists who’ve cared for him these past few years. Chet is predeceased by his parents Virginia & Robert Taylor, and his younger sister Ginel Graci, who left us just two months ago. Chet’s warmth and compassion extended beyond his prior work, and family, as he consistently made a positive impact on everyone he encountered. Chet's laughter, his thoughtful gestures, his inclusivity of others, and his unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him as he was so easy to love. Family and friends are invited to a visitation that will take place on August 2, 2025, at Towers Funeral Home, from 2pm-4pm, and 7pm-9pm (with a spiritual service at 7:30pm) providing all who loved Chet an opportunity to come together in remembrance and reflect on the many cherished moments shared with him.

In honor of Chet's compassionate and caring heart, the family encourages those attending the services to share stories and memories that celebrate his life and the impact he made on all of us. He will forever be remembered for his boundless love, his loyalty, and commitment to others, his creativity, and the light he brought to the world. Rest in peace, dear Chet; your legacy of kindness and love will endure in the hearts of many.
