Chris Doundoulakis

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chris Doundoulakis of North Bellmore, NY, who left us on Tuesday, August 25th, 2026, at the age of 98.

Born on Friday, May 18, 1928, in Manhattan, New York, Chris brought immense joy and love to all those who knew her throughout his life.

Chris will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her children: James and Rose Eve, by son-in-law Phil and daughter-in-law Lori and grandchildren Christina, Laura and Tyler and their spouses Mohammad and Stephanie. She was a dear aunt to her nephews, James, Stephen, Plato and Tom in the US and John and Michael in Greece and their children and was close to many cousins as well on both sides of the Atlantic.

Chris was a dedicated Mom whose greatest joy came from the moments spent with those closest to her. She worked hard to be sure her family was well taken care of. She worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for many years but also had many passions that she pursued. She loved her church, attended services every week and participated in many activities there. She had an exceptionally beautiful voice and sang in The Cathedral of St. Paul Choir and The Merrick Chorale. She was an excellent cook and her Greek holiday baking was legendary. She kept healthy by jogging... and later walking… every morning.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at Towers Funeral Home, Inc. in Oceanside, NY on Sunday, August 30th, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 2:30 pm.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Chris's life will take place at The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. Paul in Hempstead, NY, on Monday, August 31st, 2026, at 10:00 am.

Arrangements are entrusted to the compassionate care of Towers Funeral Home, Inc. in Oceanside, NY. Chris's legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. May her memory be eternal.
