Danver Arnold Campbell

Danver Arnold Campbell was born to the late Sherman Campbell and Ganell Brown Van Hatten

on December 19, 1946, in East Meadow, New York. Growing up in Inwood, Long Island, New

York.


He attended Lawrence Public School and was an avid sports enthusiast. He was active in track

and field and had a passion for football and basketball, for which he attended games and

tournaments throughout Long Island.


In addition, he loved to swim, allowing him to teach his nieces and nephews. Danny also loved

his prized 1969 Shelby Cobra, for which he won many trophies.

He joined the First Baptist Church of Far Rockaway, following in his grandfather's footsteps, the

late Jasper Brown, while participating in many youth programs at the church.

As a youth, he worked alongside his uncle Jasper "Buddy" Brown as a Boy Scout.

For 42 years, he worked in the profession as a master electrician under Local Union #3 I.B.E.W.

His expertise in the field allowed him to work in the Twin Towers in Manhattan.


He met and married Ann McRae and together had three children, Christopher Lamar, Dameda

Yvette, and Arnold Orenthia.


Preceding him in death were his mother, Ganell Van Hatten, and father Sherman Campbell, four

brothers, Dwight Sherman Campbell, Dargyle Herbie Campbell, Didier Campbell, and Leon Van

Hatten III. He leaves to mourn his death his beloved wife Ann Campbell, daughter Dameda Yvette

Estevez, and sons Christopher Lamar McRae and Arnold Orenthia Campbell. Two adopted

daughters, Gwynette Campbell Russell of Inwood, NY, and Sonya Denise Blount of Daytona

Beach, Florida. Sisters, Gayle L. Van Hatten, South Carolina, and Gigi Presley (Rodney), South Carolina.

Brothers-in-law, Willie Mc Rae, Dillion, SC. Mack L. McRae (Lillian) Charlotte, NC. Alexander

Mc Rae (Denise), Hammer, SC, and Lee D. Mc Rae (wife Dorothy), Dillon, SC.

Grandchildren, Desiree Estevez, Antonio Estevez, Adrianna NiBlack and August Freeman-

Blount, great nieces Ghordyn Russell and Ganelle Russell, and loved by a host of nieces and

nephews, relatives, and friends.
