Despina Koukoulas

Despina Katsiadakis, 77, passed away unexpectedly on October 10th 2016 at St. Francis Hospital. A wake will be held for family and friends at Towers Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct 13th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral services will be Friday, Oct 14th, at Panaghia Greek Orthodox Church, Island Park at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale.

Despina was born on December 15th, 1938 in a small Cretan village of Vrysses to Nicholas Katsiadakis and Eleni Pantermaki. She immigrated to the states at the age of 21 and became the proud mother of 2 daughters, Elaine Kavros and late Harriet Patronis and adoring grandmother of William, Stephanie, Olivia, and Dimitri. Despina was a homemaker, a fabulous cook, and a social butterfly. She dedicated her life to the church and the local Greek community. Despina knew life was about relationships. Despina is survived by an extended network of loving family and friends (for which she acted as a central link) and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
