Donald P. Eichin

Donald “Don” Paul Eichin, 86, of Oceanside, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Born on April 10, 1939, he was the son of the late August and Veronica Eichin and was predeceased by his brother, Robert. Donald dedicated his life to service and adventure, leaving behind a legacy of bravery and dedication both as a Firefighter with the FDNY for 30 years and as a Merchant Marine.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Judith; his sons, Randy (Jessica) and Eric (Mary Beth); and his sister, Elizabeth, along with her husband Frank and their sons, Michael and Matthew.

The joy of Donald's life was further enriched by his grandchildren, Molly, Shea, Charlotte, Kaiden, and Grayson, who were blessed to have known his love and guidance. He will also be dearly missed by extended family and countless friends.

An avid fisherman, he found joy in the pursuit of striped bass and loved nothing more than casting his line into the waters and taking his boat out any time of day. His love for surfing was showcased in the 2017 documentary Fire and Water.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Towers Funeral Home, Inc. in Oceanside, NY, on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Donald Paul Eichin leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and an unwavering spirit that will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace, forever riding the waves he so cherished.
