Douglas Norman Von Braunsberg

Douglas Norman Von Braunsberg, age 71, of Oceanside, NYdied Monday, October 7, 2013 at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside. Mr. Von Braunsberg was born March 26, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late John Harold and the late Catherine (Rhatigan) Von Braunsberg. He married Marilyn Miller.

He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War era from 1962 to 1966. He was employed by Columbia University in New York City as a Fire Safety Director, and was a former Chief of the Oceanside Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife: Marilyn (Miller) Von Braunsberg and three daughters: Donna Kiesche, Barbara Valentin, Karen Von Braunsberg;

The funeral will be held 9:45 am on Friday, October 11th at St Anthony's RC Church, 110 Anchor Ave, Oceanside, NY. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY on Friday, October 11 at 1:00 pm.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 9 from 2-4 & 7-9PM and Thursday, October 10 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Towers Funeral Home Inc., 2681 Long Beach Rd, Oceanside, NY.
