Frank Murray (1951-2018) of Floral Park, NY
A Loving husband to Maureen Kelly-Murray; a devoted and proud Father to Billy and Danny, a doting Grandfather to Julianna Rose who was the light of his life; a good loyal brother to Loretta, Charlie and Tommy, a very good man who passed away after a short but debilitating illness on July 3rd 2018.
Frank was born in Brooklyn New York. He and his sister Loretta and brothers Charlie and Tommy were all raised by his beloved Aunt Betty who first taught Frank and his siblings how to be caring, selfless and loving people.
Always an excellent student, Frank Murray’s intellect was apparent at an early age; He earned his Bachelors degree in Finance at Manhattan College. He then earned his first Masters degree from Boston College in American Studies and his second Masters degree from Hofstra University in Education.
Frank flourished as a Foreign Currencies Broker for over thirty years at the prestigious Wall Street firm of DeBeausse and Company. He later became an educator teaching Social Studies and American History at Brooklyn Elementary School and molding young minds.
Frank was most proud of his thirty-four year marriage to his loving wife Maureen. He was also a proud and devoted Father. The High points of his life included the birth of both of his sons Billy and Danny. He wanted the best for his sons so when his son Billy met and married his bride Lisamarie Frank was elated. Then his joy was magnified when his beautiful granddaughter Julianna Rose was born. Frank was equally pleased & proud when Danny fell in love with and got engaged to Robyn Berkowitz. Frank felt blessed both of his sons would be happy men with good women at their sides.
Frank leaves behind a legion of friends and family as he was a good and gentle man with a wise sweet self-effacing soul. He was often described as the “smartest man in the room with the smallest ego”. Whenever a helping hand was needed, Frank was always the first to offer his!
Those of us who deeply mourn his passing may take solace in the knowledge that Frank Murray is now watching a four-way-split-screen of the Mets, the Yankees, the Rangers and his beloved Giants who will consistently crush the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl...and yes Frank will be watching wearing his Giants jersey as he enjoys a bowl of his favorite ice cream with a bag of classic Lays Potato Chips at arms reach. We will all miss his humor his love for history sports family and life we are all better for knowing Francis Murray!
