Luther, George, W. of Rockville Centre, NY on 10/29/21 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Maureen for more than 61 years. Loving and proud father of Kathleen and Barbara of Middletown, NJ. Raised in Rosedale, NY. Ace basketball player at Andrew Jackson High School and Hofstra University – class of 1952. Member of Hofstra’s Basketball Hall of Fame. Lifelong athlete and avid skier. Retired schoolteacher from Lawrence Public Schools. A trivia wiz, George was known for completing the NY Times crossword puzzle daily and rarely encountered a “Jeopardy" question he could not answer. Always quick witted, he could be counted on to make others chuckle and smile. Visitation Monday, 11/1 from 5 pm – 7 pm at Towers Funeral Home, 2681 Long Beach Rd, Oceanside, NY. Funeral mass at St. Agnes Cathedral, Rockville Centre, NY on Tuesday, 11/2 at 9:45 am. Interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
