Gerald William Lynch

Gerald William Lynch of Oceanside passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026.

Born and raised in Chelsea, Manhattan, Gerald met the love of his life, Ellen Bracken. Together they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage, built on unwavering support, mutual respect, laughter, and deep love, until Ellen's passing in 2020.

Gerald is survived by his loving children, William (Donna), Deborah (Fred) Wagner, and Sean. He was the proud grandfather of Kathryn, Christian (Hanna), Patrick, William (Christine), John, and Ryan, all of whom brought him immense joy.

A proud Army veteran, Gerald served his country overseas in Germany. Following his military service, he began a distinguished career with the International Longshoremen's Association, starting as a dock worker and rising to an executive position before his retirement. He was an avid reader with a lifelong passion for history.

Above all, Gerald will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his generous spirit, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. He took immense pride in his Irish heritage and cherished the traditions and values it instilled in him. His warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

While his loss is deeply felt, his family takes comfort in knowing that after years apart, Gerald is now reunited with his beloved Ellen in heaven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Gerald's memory.
