It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Gerard “Jerry” McDevitt on September 18 th , 2024. Jerry was born on May 15 th , 1949, in New York.
Jerry was a retired firefighter with the FDNY, and a plumber by trade, who was loved and respected by many. He was kind, compassionate, and honest human being, with a smirk that could light up a room. With honesty and integrity, he worked hard to serve his community and take care of his family. Countless times he has given so much to others when they were in need and loved them no matter their faults. His life was quite difficult, but that never stopped him from caring for those around him when they needed him. He has left a positive impact on the lives that he has touched, and we are better people for having known him. We will continue your legacy of kindness and compassion until we meet again!
Jerry leaves behind his significant other Nancy of 36 years, daughter Jacqueline, stepdaughter Jennifer, sisters, Peggy and Kathleen, brothers, Danny (Tubby) and Billy, grandkids, Bryonna and Richard, nieces, nephews and in laws.
