Helen Andromidas
March 15, 1935 – August 18, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Helen, who left this world peacefully on August 18, 2025, at the age of 90.
Helen was born on March 15, 1935, in Kremasti, a small village in Laconia, Greece. At just 15 years old, she bravely left her homeland and journeyed through Ellis Island in 1950 to begin a new life in the United States. Not long after, fate brought her to a dance where she met the love of her life, Teddy. From that moment, the two were inseparable. They built a beautiful life together until Teddy’s passing, and now Helen is reunited with him at last.
Helen was the embodiment of selflessness, kindness, and devotion. She was one of eight children, and her legacy lives on through her dear sisters Sophie, Maria, and Tessie. Nothing mattered more to Helen than her family. She was the heart of every gathering, spending countless holidays cooking for her loved ones, never sitting to enjoy a plate herself until everyone else had been fed.
She is survived by her son, Peter, and his wife, Betsy, and her daughter, Evelyn, and her husband, Stavros. She leaves behind her adoring grandchildren from oldest to youngest: John (Stephanie), Teddy (Carrie) , Philip (Kendall), and Eleni (Daniel)—and her treasured great-grandchildren: Penny, Evie, Teddy, Luke, Dean, Steven, and Alexander. To them, she was not just a grandmother but a source of unconditional love, warmth, and guidance.
In her later years, Helen enjoyed splitting her time between New York and Pompano Beach, with cherished summers spent back in Greece. Her greatest joy was always her family, and her love for them was immeasurable.
Helen’s life was a true testament to love, sacrifice, and the enduring strength of family. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
