Helen Carpenter

Helen M. Carpenter (Murray) 88, of Middletown passed away peacefully on her birthday, Friday February 26, 2016 with her family by her side. She was a long time resident of Oceanside, L.I. N.Y. where she raised her family before moving to Middletown, NJ 4 years ago. Helen worked as a Telephone Operator for N.Y. Telephone for 45 years. She was a past active member of the Oceanside VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the East Rockaway American Legion Auxiliary, the Telephone Pioneers and the Oceanside Kiwanetts. Helen's cheerful disposition and smile will be sorely missed by all who met her. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph in 1988. Helen is survived by her loving daughter Patricia Bain and her husband Frank, her dear grandchildren Francis Joseph Bain, Alison Patricia Gingras and her husband Chad and Kelly Ann Bain. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Carter and Riley Gingras.Helen will be reposing at Towers Funeral Home Inc., Monday, February 29th from 4 - 8 PM 2681 Long Beach Road Oceanside, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, 9:45 am March 1st at St.Anthony's RC Church Anchor Ave Oceanside, NY with interment immediately following at Greenfield Cemetery 650 Nassau Road Uniondale, NY 11553.
