Henry G. Thoden

In loving memory of Henry George Thoden, husband, father and grandfather who passed away on October 26, 2023. He was the devoted husband of Inge, loving father of Pierre, Heidi and Rita and grandpa to Nicholaus, Christy, Kevin, Christopher, Matthew, Tyler and Sydney. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Henry was born September 2, 1931 in a small farming town of Worpswede, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1951, where he met his forever love, Inge. Together had three beautiful children, two in Canada, before they immigrated to Cambria Heights, NY around 1963, where their youngest daughter was born. Thereafter, West Hempstead became their forever home to raise their family and enjoy life.

One of the kindest souls on this planet, Henry was a fierce yet gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. He created a remarkable and successful life and will leave many marks showing his true talents.

After retiring in early 2000, Henry spent time being an active member of the Masons, the Brooklyn Schuetzen Corps along with being an avid golfer and gun range member.

Henry was predeceased by Heidi, his beloved daughter, along with Bertha (mother) George (father) Annaliesa (sister) Johann (brother) and Hans (brother). He is survived by Inge, his wife, along with their children, Pierre and Rita and 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The funeral service will be held at Towers Funeral Home in Oceanside NY on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from

2-4pm and 7-9pm.

Henry, you are now at peace but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much.
