James Joseph Monaghan
James Joseph Monaghan, age 92, of Medford, NY and formerly of New Hyde Park, NY, died on March 4, 2017 in Oceanside, NY. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothea. Loving father of Kathleen (Karl) Schumacher, James Michael (Helene) and Eileen (Darrel) Lockard. Dear grandfather of Sean, Megan, Ryan, Daniel, Kurt and great grandfather of Noah. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran honorably serving during WWII. The family will receive relatives and friends wishing to pay their respects, at Towers Funeral Home, Inc. 2681 Long Beach Road Oceanside, NY 11572, on Monday from 2pm-4pm and again from 7pm-9pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony's RC Church on Tuesday, March 7th, at 10:30am. The burial with military honors will follow the mass at the Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn, NY.
