Joan E. Guido

Joan Guido, 88, of Baldwin, New York, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, February 21, 2026. She was born on July 7, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York, to Elizabeth and Amel Silano.

Joan was raised in Brooklyn, where she was a motivated student and an active member of her church youth group. It was there, in 1952, that she met the love of her life, Joseph. After graduating high school, Joan worked as a candy striper and studied to become a secretary. She and Joseph were married in 1956 and shared 69 loving years together. They raised two children and, as partners in life and business, built and operated a successful marble and granite company until their retirement in 2018.

Joan’s greatest joy was her family. She loved hosting holidays, cooking and baking, shopping, and giving thoughtful gifts. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and selflessness, always placing the needs of others before her own. Joan especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Joan was known for her warm smile, welcoming home, and the quiet strength with which she cared for everyone around her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph; her children, Lisa (Frank) and Joseph (Lisa); her grandchildren, Tatum (Chris), Lacey (Jeremiah), Samantha (Michael), and Joseph (Kaitlynn); her great-grandchildren, Magnolia, Jude, Lark, Xavier, Gannon, and Myla; and her brothers, Amel and Ronald.

Services will be held at Tower Funeral Home, Oceanside, New York, on Wednesday, February 25, and Thursday, February 26. A funeral service will follow on Friday, February 27.

Joan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will be forever cherished.
