Joanne Lutz

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Joanne P. Lutz of Merrick, NY, on November 1, 2023, at the age of 67. Born on August 29, 1956, to John and Kathleen O’Callaghan, she was the third of their five children. She is pre-deceased by her husband Gregory M. Lutz. Joanne was the adored mother of twins Gregory C. and Zachary J. Lutz. Last July, she welcomed a wonderful daughter-in-law, Hannah Wilcox, into the family when she and Gregory said their “I do’s!”

Her heartbroken family also includes her sister Barbara (Jim), brother Sean (Laura), sister Cathleen (Bob), brother Kevin (Denise) as well as seven nieces and nephews and numerous cousins here and in Ireland.

Joanne trained as a CNA and was particularly known for her kind and caring ways with seniors. She devoted many years of her life to the care of her own mother. All who met Joanne found her always ready to engage in fun activities as evidenced by our many family trips to Woodloch Pines, PA. and Doherty’s Campgrounds, NY. She was an animal lover and her latest canine companion, Klondike, will certainly miss her.

Joanne – you are now in the “arms of the angels”, may you find some comfort there.
