John Anthony Piniat

John "Jack" Piniat, age 99, of Dix Hills, NY died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at

home. Mr. Piniat was born February 13, 1912 and was 99 years old. He is survived

by his beloved wife of 65 years, Effie, son Anthony (Linda), daughters Kiki

(Peter) Xanthos and Dorothy (James) Rigano. He is the loved Papou (grandfather)

of his thirteen cherished grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

He served with honor in the Army during World War II in Normandy, France &

Germany from 1941 to 1945.

The funeral service will be held 11:30 am on Monday, January 16th at The Greek

Orthodox

Cathedral Of St. Paul, 110 Cathedral Ave, Hempstead, NY. Burial will be at

Pinelawn Memorial Park, in Pinelawn, NY on Monday, January 16th at approximately

1:30 pm.

Calling hours will be Sunday, January 15th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Towers Funeral

Home Inc., 2681 Long Beach Rd, Oceanside, NY.
