John Consiglio

John Consiglio, better known as “Johnny,” passed away on April 5th, 2024. The earth shook when he left us.

John was born on August 18th, 1931 and grew up in Jamaica, Queens. He dedicated four years of service in the Air Force during the Korean War. Afterward, he settled in Valley Stream, NY, where he met the love of his life, Virginia. They started their life together in Oceanside, NY, and shared an incredible journey for almost 66 years.

Johnny was a loving and kind-hearted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. Everyone who met him instantly fell in love with his infectious smile and sense of humor that could light up a room. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, playing golf, and most of all, sharing stories of his past with his granddaughters. His love and adoration for his wife and family were boundless.

John is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Barbara; son, Joe; five granddaughters, Stephanie, Jennifer, Melissa, Julia, and Alexa; four great-grandchildren, Mila, Kinsley, Hadley, and Liam; and his sister, Caroline.

He will be dearly loved and greatly missed. Rest in peace, our sweet Johnny.

Calling hours will be Thursday, April 11th from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9PM at Towers Funeral Home Inc., 2681 Long Beach Rd, Oceanside, NY.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:45 am on Friday, April 12th at St. Anthony's RC Church, 110 Anchor Ave, Oceanside, NY. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, N.Y. on Friday, April 12th at 12:00 pm.
