"A beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, Regional Commander, Archon Inspector, and friend to all that knew him. This man was a legend who touched and influenced so many people in his life in different ways. Anyone that knew John, Yanni or Kaz, knew that he was a force to be reckoned with. John was a strong, loyal, caring, loving person that wanted the best for his family and friends. He welcomed anyone into his home whether he knew you his whole life or had just met you. He had a way with people. John had countless stories, made people laugh and people always enjoyed running into him or being around him. He was always helping others his entire life. John would drop everything and go to help friends or anyone in need. We are all in shock that he has been taken from us so suddenly and too soon, but God has a plan for John. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him as the hero who survived many catastrophes, especially the tragedy of 911."
In lieu of flowers, Kassimatis' family would appreciate donations in John's memory be made to The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. Pauls building fund.
