John Torra, a proud veteran, devoted husband, and beloved member of his family, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 88.

Born on Match 14, 1937, John served his country with honor in the United States Air Force. His patriotism, discipline, and quiet strength were hallmarks of a life well lived.

After his military service, John pursued a long and distinguished career as an ironworker. He worked on and supervised the construction of some of New York's most iconic bridges, contributing to the very fabric of the city he loved. His dedication, craftsmanship, and leadership left a lasting mark on the skyline of New York.

John was a man of many passions. He loved to travel, especially with his wife, Rosemarie. He found great joy in woodworking, carefully crafting each piece with pride and precision. He also cherished his frequent visits to Atlantic City, where he enjoyed the energy of the casino and created countless fond memories.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Rosemarie; his brother-in-law Eugene; sister-in-law Joann; and his dear nieces and nephews: Eugene, Lisa, Shaun, and Jackie. He also leaves behind his cherished great-nieces and great-nephews: Eugene, Shaun, Emily, and Leah. In addition, John is survived by loving cousins and many close friends who were like family to him.

He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the deep love he shared with all those around him. John's presence was a source of strength and comfort, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in John's memory.
