Joseph Alberti
*July 19, 1941 – August 6, 2026*

Joseph Alberti, a devoted husband, father, papa, veteran, firefighter, and community servant, passed away at the age of 85.

Born on July 19, 1941, Joseph was raised in Brooklyn, New York, alongside his two sisters and two brothers. He grew up in a close-knit Italian-American household surrounded by his loving mother, father, and grandmother, where family, tradition, hard work, and looking out for one another were at the center of everyday life. Those values stayed with Joseph throughout his life and became the foundation of the family he would later build himself.

Joseph proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. His dedication to service continued long after his military career. He became a volunteer firefighter with Baldwin Hose Company No. 4, eventually rising through the ranks to serve as Captain. He was also an active member of the Baldwin Kiwanis Club, where he served as Treasurer and continued his commitment to giving back to his community.

Professionally, Joseph built a long and accomplished career as a combustion control engineer. His work took him aboard dozens of United States Navy aircraft carriers, where his expertise contributed to the operation and maintenance of some of the Navy’s most important vessels. It was a career that reflected the intelligence, skill, work ethic, and sense of responsibility that defined so much of his life.

Above all else, Joseph was a family man. Of all the titles he earned throughout his life—soldier, engineer, firefighter, captain, and community leader—the ones that mattered most were husband, father, and papa.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Nettie Alberti ; his daughters Lisa Alberti-Williams, Laura Alberti, his son in law Scott Williams, and his seven grandchildren; Dani, hope, Frankie, Carlee, Joseph, Julia, and Owen. who will all carry forward the values, stories, traditions, and memories he gave them.

Joseph lived a life marked by service—to his country, his community, his profession, and most importantly, his family. His legacy will live on through the many people whose lives he touched and through the family he loved so deeply.
