Joseph Melito was born on April 3, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, and later made his home in Oceanside, New York.
Joseph proudly served in the United States Army, spending two years stationed in Germany. He later worked for Verizon for many years before retiring early.
Joseph was a devoted husband to his wife, Assunta Melito, a loving father to his daughter, Maria Domanick, and a proud grandfather to Isabella and Caterina.
Those who knew Joseph will remember him as a quiet man with a truly good heart. He was always willing to help someone in need and never expected anything in return. He showed his love and care through his actions, and his generosity touched many throughout his life.
Joseph was predeceased by his brothers, Vito and Sal, and is survived by his brother, Jerry, as well as his wife, daughter, granddaughters, and extended family.
He will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever remembered by those who knew him.
