Joseph R. Teta

Joseph R. Teta, 77, died peacefully at home on November 27, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jane (Hanlon), children Jennifer Vitale and David, daughter-in-law Leigh (DeProspo) and granddaughters Juliet Teta and Katherine Vitale. He is pre-deceased by his brother Edward Teta and his son-in-law Jason Vitale. Joseph spent 39 years in the Baldwin school district. He was a high school English teacher and chairperson and a psychologist, serving as the head of the district's psychological services before retiring in 2009. Joseph enjoyed travel, literature, Broadway, the beach, and playing piano.

His family has asked for donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital be made in his name as a way of continuing his commitment to bettering the lives of children.
