Kiki Voulgaris

Vasiliki ‘Kiki’ Voulgaris, 81, passed away on June 25, 2021 surrounded by her beloved family.

She was born February 15, 1940, in Skoura, Greece to Nicholas and Maria Fountas. She migrated to Montreal, Canada during the late 1950’s where she met and married her husband, Peter Voulgaris, on October 19, 1963.

From there, Peter and Kiki moved to Freeport, NY in 1966. They had their first child, Aris, in January 1968 and their daughter, Maria, in 1971.

While raising her 2 children, Kiki worked as a seamstress. She loved to go to the beach, enjoy the ocean and take walks along the boardwalk. She also loved to put in her 5 miles around the neighborhood all year round.

Kiki was very involved in the Greek community and her church until 2016, when her illness struck.

She fought the illness for 5 strong years. She gave all she had to be with her husband, children and three grandchildren. Nothing was going to keep her love from them, which they will always remember and cherish.

The viewing will be held at 11am, followed by a funeral service at noon this Monday, June 28, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church in Merrick. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the church in Kiki’s loving memory.
