Lorraine Barone

Barone, Lorraine (nee Colatrella) of North Woodmere in her 83rd year, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017. Beloved wife of Vincent for 62 years; beloved mother of Vincent (Lucy), Jack (Jean), and Yvonne Wald (Evan); beloved grandmother of Matthew, Michael, Vincent, Steven, and Christina.

Lorraine was the daughter of Gus and Mary Colatrella, born in Newark, N.J. A graduate of Barringer H.S., Lorraine went on to graduate from Montclair State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education.

Aside from fulfilling her roles as a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, she was an active member of the North Woodmere community having served as Lawrence U.F.S.D. PTA President, PTA Council President, and actively participated in the North Woodmere Civic Association.

Services will be held at Towers Funeral Home, 2681 South Long Beach Road, Oceanside, N.Y. on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at St. Joseph Parish in Hewlett, N.Y. Interment at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Lawrence Public Schools Scholarship Fund in Memory of Lorraine Barone.
