Lorraine Rose Meluzio passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on August 30, 2025.
Lorraine was born on June 30, 1949, in Queens, New York. She was a social butterfly, who enjoyed gardening, many genres of music, a fashionable outfit, and a nice, hot cup of coffee. She greeted everybody enthusiastically with a smile, and she never missed an opportunity to volunteer in her community or church. Lorraine will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and generosity. She will always be admired for her unbelievable strength, resiliency, and unwavering positivity.
Lorraine was beautiful inside and out. We will miss her laugh, her easy conversations, and her constant encouragement. Lorraine cherished her family and friends. Without a doubt, what she loved most in the world was spending time with her son and three precious grandsons. She leaves a legacy of treasured memories with them.
Lorraine was the devoted mother of Vincent J. Meluzio and his wife Janine of Fairfield, CT. Adored grandmother of Ian, Colin, and Dylan. Loving sister of Denise Di Palo. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Meluzio, as well as her cherished parents, Peter A. Di Palo and Virginia (Marra) Di Palo.
Family and friends are invited to honor Lorraine’s life. Visitation will be Friday, September 5, 2025, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Towers Funeral Home, Oceanside, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's R.C. Church in Oceanside, NY on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 9:45 AM. Lorraine will be laid to rest at Mount St. Mary R.C. Cemetery on Booth Memorial Ave in Flushing, NY following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Make a Wish Foundation (www.wish.org), an organization that Lorraine enjoyed volunteering for; or to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
