Luis Angel Gonzalez, affectionately known as “Luisito” and “Chito,” passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19th, 2026, at his home in Far Rockaway, NY. Born on August 28th, 1998, Luis spent his life surrounded by loving family and friends in his birthplace of Far Rockaway, New York.
Despite the challenges posed by his special needs and a diagnosis that limited his life expectancy, Luis lived courageously and exceeded expectations, bringing immense joy and love to those around him. His warm spirit and loving heart touched everyone he encountered. Luis had a deep affection for children, animals, racehorses, and food. He was a fan of the New York Mets and found immense joy in family gatherings, especially when birthday cake was involved.
Luis was the beloved son of Gloria Gonzalez and Luis J. Gonzalez. He is also survived by his devoted brothers, Marvin, Carlos and Wilton, as well as his adoring three nephews, niece, numerous cousins, and countless friends who were blessed to have known him. His family cared for him deeply, showering him with love and attention throughout his life.
Although Luis faced many challenges, he lived a remarkable life full of warmth and affection. He will be remembered for his joyful personality, infectious smile, and his uncanny ability to bring happiness to everyone he met. Luis Angel Gonzalez will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
A visitation will be held at Towers Funeral Home, Inc. in Oceanside, NY, on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Family and friends will gather to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a remarkably loved son, brother, and friend. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre, NY, on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026, at 9:45 am.
