Margarita Garcia

Margarita Garcia was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, on April 21, 1950 to

Santos Garcia and Margarita Rodriguez and was the youngest of their four

children. Margarita grew up in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, and attended school

there. She emigrated to Queens, New York, in 1970, accompanied by her

spouse, Leoncio Benitez, and her two children, Milagros and Anibal. She was

a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cross-word puzzles and video games.

Margarita attended the Iglesia Bautista de las Americas in Queens Village.

She was a nurturing, loving and happy woman. She was a saving grace to

many, frequently offering to clothe, house and feed those in need of support.

Being around her children, grandchildren and extended family brought her

great joy.

She is survived by her five children Milagros, Anibal, Sonia, Sara, Jeremia,

and her four welcomed sons Lamar, Daniel, Antonio, and Angelo. She is also

survived by twenty-two grandchildren: Ivette, Noel, Jonathan, Janel, Kristine,

Jesus, Moises, Magdalina, Romelo, Brianna, Tanejah, Natalee, Tito, Anthony,

Angelina, Joshua, Lazario, Giovanell, Evangelique, Laiden, Evalise and Liam,

in addition to twenty-four great-grandchildren and her sister Gloria.
