Marie Marano, passed away on April 4, 2026, peacefully at her home in Carle Place, NY.
She was 89 years old. Marie was born on October 29, 1936, in Flushing, New York, the beloved child of Palma and Patrick Williams. From an early age, Marie was known for her passionate spirit, sense of humor, intelligence, intuitive understanding of life and deep love of family. These qualities remained constant throughout a life rooted in faith, loyalty and her unconditional love for her children.
She had a larger-than-life personality, a fashionista with her trademark flair, who moved through the world with style and panache. She was ahead of her time in her thinking, the most open-minded person we’ve ever known, empathic and fearlessly protective of those she loved. Marie was a bright light who had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel special in her orbit.
She loved nature and felt a deep respect for all living creatures. She loved the beach, taking rides, and the beauty of autumn leaves. Above all, Marie treasured time spent with family. She found joy in everyday moments, shared meals, laughter, traditions and conversations that brought people together. These moments became the foundation of cherished memories that will be held close in each of our hearts forever.
Marie was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Marano Sr., “Sonny”. She is survived by her children, Nancy Marano Silva, Anthony Marano Jr., Donna Marano, and daughter-in-law, Lisa Veglia, her grandchildren, Nicholas Silva and wife, Danielle, Joseph Silva and wife, Nell Strizich, her great grandchildren, Amelia, Jessica, Clare and Robin and her brothers, Anthony and wife, Debra , Danny, Michael and beloved sister in-law Kathy and their children, Rachel and husband, Scott, Alexandra and wife, Sandra, and their daughter, Paloma. We will continue to honor her legacy through love and dedication to one another, all of whom were deeply loved.
My mother wished to be cremated with no funeral arrangements. She would wish for most, that her family stay close and for those who knew her, to keep her memory alive through acts of kindness – helping a neighbor, saving an injured animal, being a friend or just paying it forward in whatever way matters most to you. Though deeply missed, Marie’s life serves as a quiet reminder of the impact of compassion, understanding and unwavering love…………Knock.
