ZUKAITIS, Mary Diane, (nee Sandusky) formerly of Oceanside, NY, on November 26, 2021

died peacefully under the devoted care of the staff of Maria Regina Residence in Brentwood,

NY. Born in Connellsville, PA. Cherished wife of the late Charles. Her sister and brothers,

Lorraine Griffiths and Robert and Melvin Sandusky predeceased her. Dear sister-in law of

Barbara and Richard Kayel. Devoted mother of Jane, Rosanne Humes, Stephen, Daniel, Karen

Schoenly, and Scott. Mother-in-law to Alan Humes and the late Howard Schoenly. Beloved

grandmother to Meghan Leston (Abe), Jeanette (Christopher McDonnell) and Valerie Duffy,

Brittany Humes-O’Dell (Michael) and Emily Humes, and Jake and Nicholas Zukaitis. Adored

great grandma to Lucas Galvez, and Charlie, Owen and Cassidy Leston. She is remembered

lovingly by her cousins in Pennsylvania. Nieces and nephews also mourn her passing. Registered

Nurse at South Nassau Communities Hospital for over forty years. Member of the Rosary Altar

Society of St. Anthony’s RC Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Father Joseph O'Connell

Council Knights of Columbus.
