Maryruth P. Gunther passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024.  Maryruth was born in Brooklyn New York to Petronella and James McPhilliamy on November 29, 1930. She had a treasured sister, Therese McPhilliamy and a dearly loved brother, James McPhilliamy. Maryruth's loving husband Frederick passed in 2008. She was the Beloved mother of Edward Klimas (Donna), Richard Klimas (Tricia), Therese McLaughlin (Edward) and Paul Gunther (Heide). The Precious Grandmother of Edward (Erin), Alissa, Kelli, Kristin, Katie, James (Loreen), Meghan (Tim), Gabrielle (Tony) and Matthew. Adored great grandmother of Nolan, Jolee, Lila, Jamison, Dylann, Ava, Christopher, Brody and Kerri. She will be remembered by her imperishable loving, caring and always cheerful disposition.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 21st at St. Agnes RC Cathedral, Quealy Pl, Rockville Centre, NY. Burial will be in Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury on Friday, June 21st at 12:30 pm.

Calling hours will be Thursday, June 20th from 4 - 8PM at Towers Funeral Home Inc., 2681 Long Beach Rd, Oceanside, NY.
