Michael Horace Abrahams

Michael Horace Abrahams, aged 62 years old, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, on Long Island, NY. He was born on July 21, 1963, in Queens, NY, to William Trevor Abrahams and Phyllis Audrey Allen. He proudly resided in Laurelton, Queens, Freeport, NY, and other areas of Queens and Long Island for much of his life. Michael was a 1981 graduate of Springfield Gardens High School. He advanced his education at Queens Borough Community College. He married Michelle Francoeur on February 2, 1996, in Queens, NY. He was very proud of his children, Michael, Alexis, and Jamel, and their accomplishments. He worked as a technician with Verizon for 32 years. Michael always had the ability to make anyone smile. Michael was very outgoing and loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was also a fervent fan of the Mets, Jets, and Knicks, and knew every year would be our year!

Michael is survived by his wife, Michelle; his parents Phyllis Audrey Allen and Trevor Abrahams, stepmother Claudette Abrahams; his children Michael Abrahams, Alexis Abrahams-Arellano, and Jamel Howard; brothers Richard Abrahams, Randy (Linda) Allen, and Damian (Krystal Ortiz) Stewart; his sisters Sandra (Michael) Druitt, Michelle (John) McKoy, Samantha (Keith) Bryant, and Camille (Uchenna) Emeagwali; grandchildren Kace McLaurin, Kai McLaurin, Jamel Howard Jr, Justus Howard, Yazelle Howard and Nyanna Harris, a great-grandchild, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Family, friends, and all those who loved Michael are invited to reminisce and honor the life of Michael at the wake at Towers Funeral Home, 2681 Long Beach Road, Oceanside, NY, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Sunday, September 28, 2025. The funeral is taking place at St. Christopher’s Church, 11 Gale Avenue, Baldwin, NY, on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 9:30 AM.
