Michael G. Dunning

Michael G. Dunning, a longtime resident of Oceanside, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the age of 85.

Born on January 10, 1940, in the Bronx, NY, Mike was the middle son of Thomas Dunning and Elizabeth Doyle Dunning. He is survived by his loving siblings, Sr. Mary Elizabeth Dunning OP and Bro. John Dunning FMS. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Dunning and sister Nuala Lambe.

A proud graduate of St. Helena High School, Class of 1957 and Manhattan College, Class of 1961, Mike went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army for two years. He then built a distinguished career as a civil engineer, contributing to numerous large-scale projects throughout New York City and upstate New York. Known for his dedication and mentorship, Mike took great pride in guiding young engineers as they brought blueprints and construction plans to life.

Above all, Mike was a devoted family man. He shared 57 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Olga. He is deeply missed by his son Kevin, daughter-in-law Stella, and his cherished grandsons Jordan and Dylan. His legacy also lives on through many loving nieces, nephews, godsons, and treasured friends & associates.

Family and friends are invited to honor Mike’s life on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Towers Funeral Home in Oceanside, NY. A Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 9:45 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Oceanside, NY.

Mike will be remembered for his quiet, never-ending strength, sharp mind, and generous heart. He was a Good Man!
