Michael J. Maio

Michael J. Maio, age 78, of Baldwin Harbor, NY passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023.

Michael J. Maio was born on August 5, 1944 to John and Ann Maio in Brooklyn, NY. He is a proud veteran with an honorable discharge from the US NAVY, serving in the Vietnam War on the USS Forrestal. Michael worked as a supervisor for the New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) for over 30 years and was married to the late Lucy Maio for 34 years (until her passing in 2002). They raised their family in South Ozone Park, Queens prior to moving to Baldwin Harbor in 1992 and were active members of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. Michael is survived by his beloved children: Michael J. Maio, Jr. and his wife Bobbie; Jonathan Maio and his wife Theresa; and Natalie Storelli and her husband Frank. He is also a proud and beloved Papa to Anthony & Jonathan Maio as well as Rocco & Luciana Storelli.

A wake service will be held at 6:30 pm on Sunday, July 23rd at Towers Funeral Home Inc., 2681 Long Beach Rd, Oceanside, NY. Entombment will be in Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury on Monday, July 24th at 11:30 am.

Calling hours will be Sunday, July 23rd from 3 - 7PM at Towers Funeral Home Inc., 2681 Long Beach Rd, Oceanside, NY. Michael's family will be accepting flowers or preferably plants in lieu of flowers.
