In Loving Memory of Michael Sean Morreale
June 7, 1983 – June 6, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Sean Morreale on June 6, 2026, at the age of 42.
Michael was a devoted teacher at Benjamin N. Cardozo High School, where he made a lasting impact on countless students through his kindness, patience, and genuine love for helping young people learn and grow. Teaching was more than a profession to Michael—it was a calling. He cared deeply for his students and found great joy in seeing them succeed.
Those who knew Michael will remember him as a genuinely happy person whose warmth, humor, and positivity brightened every room he entered. He had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcome and valued, and his friendship was a gift to many.
Michael was proud to have earned the rank of Eagle Scout, a reflection of the character, leadership, and service that guided him throughout his life.
A lifelong and enthusiastic fan of Walt Disney World Resort, Michael embraced the magic and wonder that Disney brought to people of all ages. Over the years, he enjoyed many memorable trips to Disney World with his family, whom he loved dearly, as well as with close friends and their children. He treasured these experiences and the opportunity to create lasting memories filled with laughter, adventure, and joy. His love for Disney was matched only by his love for sharing those special moments with the people he cared about most.
Michael was also a passionate sports fan who proudly cheered for the New York Yankees and the New York Rangers. Whether watching a game with friends or celebrating a victory, his enthusiasm was contagious.
Michael leaves behind his loving parents, Pamela and Thomas Morreale, and his devoted older brother, Brian Morreale. He was a devoted family man who cherished the time spent with those he loved most. Family vacations, gatherings, and the many trips they shared together brought him immense happiness and created memories that will be treasured forever. He also leaves behind a wide circle of family, friends, colleagues, students, and former students whose lives were enriched by his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
Though his time with us was far too short, Michael's legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched. He will be remembered for his compassion, his joy, his dedication to children, and the love he shared so freely with everyone fortunate enough to know him.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Michael's lifelong love for children, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Michael will be deeply missed and forever remembered. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
