In loving memory of Michael P. Huthwaite, Devoted Partner, Father, Grandfather, & Great
Grandfather. Michael passed peacefully on December 13th 2023. He is survived by his longtime
companion Maureen Robinson, his children Michael (& Kim), John (& Tina), Joseph (&
Michelle), his cherished grandchildren, Kara (& Joe), Alexa C., Andrew (& Danielle), Adrionna,
Alexa M., Trista, Landon, Lennox, Carter, Jagger, & Preston, and one adored great grandson
Joseph. Michael is also survived by his first wife, and mother of his children, Andrea Sardo,
whom he remained close with throughout the years.
Michael was known for his unwavering love, support, and wisdom. He leaves behind a legacy of
warmth, generosity, and countless acts of kindness. He helped countless people during his life,
providing assistance to anyone who asked and offering it to anyone who didn’t. His impact on
the lives of those around him will be remembered and cherished for generations to come.
Michael had many passions in his life. His love of baseball kept him playing the sport until he
was in his 60s managing an MSLB team for 25 years and created a lifetime of friendships. From
childhood he enjoyed models and trains which became a lifelong hobby that included detailed
Department 56 villages and expansive train layouts. His passion for his work in safety and
health provided him a career that he refused to retire from actively involved in the company he
founded until he passed. Of all his obsessions, he was probably most recognized for his
haberdashery, always impeccably dressed from head to toe.
Michael was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Army and was a
recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. In honor of his service, he will be laid to rest at Long Island
National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation in his name, to the Tunnel 2 Towers
Foundation supporting our first responders and veterans.
