Mohamed Shafeek

Mohamed Shafeek was born on May 7th, 1942, to the union of Mohammad and Rasulan Haniff in Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara, Guyana.

He immigrated to the United States on December 27th, 1967. He served as a Registered Nurse for over thirty years. He loved gardening, country and Indian music and dancing. He was an avid historian, loved telling stories and jokes.

Mohamed met the love of his life, Cynthia in 1970. They shared their love and lives for over four and a half decades.

He departed this life on Sunday, April 5th 2015 surrounded by his family at the North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, NY at 6:20 PM.

Mohamed leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Cynthia; his four daughters, Susan Dunn (Unique); Sasha (Mohammed Safur); Sharlene Ramsundar (Mitch); and Stefanie; three precious grandchildren, Lila Irene; Rashad Shafeek; and Amelia Rose.

He also leaves behind two brothers and two sisters, Hafeez, Abdool, Zainool and Bibi and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
