Nora T. Gilroy

Nora Gilroy, age 85, passed away in the early morning of Saturday, September 14, 2019, at home in Lido Beach, NY. Nora was born on April 23, 1934 in County Kerry, Ireland. She emigrated to New York two decades later, and made her life in the New York area. She lived a full and loving life – always putting the needs of her beloved family and good friends above her own. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael A. Gilroy, who passed away in 1998. She lived in Lido Beach, NY for the last two decades of her life, with her daughter Ann Marie. During that time, she actively volunteered at the Long Beach Soup Kitchen, where she met some great friends. She will be missed deeply by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 10:30am at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church at 75 Parkside Rd Dr., Point Lookout, NY 11569.

All are invited afterwards to a buffet brunch at 12 noon at The Fisherman’s Catch restaurant at 111 Bayside Dr, Point Lookout, NY 11569.

In lieu of flowers, the family has designated The Long Beach Soup kitchen for memorial contributions. Checks made out to The Long Beach Soup Kitchen can be sent to:
