Pamela A. Shannon

Pamela A. Shannon died after a long illness on June 6. The daughter of Valentine and Aldine (nee Kennedy) was 72. She was a graduate of Molloy Catholic College for Women and earned her Masters of Special Education at Hofstra University. Pam worked for 47 years for the Diocese of Rockville Centre. She started her career at St. Rose of Lima Elementary School in Massapequa. After she was the Coordinator of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine at St. Agnes Cathedral she became the parish's first Director of Religious Education. She was subsequently Director at St. Patrick's Bayshore, St. Anthony's Oceanside and St. Ignatius Long Beach. She is fondly remembered as Telecare's Granny Faith, the creator, producer and on air talent of the popular Religious Children's Program. She is survived by her brother Doug, sister Cindy, Brother-in-Law James and niece/Goddaughter Anne.
