Patricia Cozzi

On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, Patricia Cozzi née Gallahue passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends. Pat was an extraordinary individual, described by many as “the most thoughtful person I know.” She graduated from Bellevue Nursing School in NYC and was working as an ER Nurse when she met a handsome young doctor while caring for a patient. Their first date was a standing room only performance at the Metropolitan Opera. She married that doctor, Gerard M. Cozzi DDS, in 1958 and they went on to have five children. Through the years, Pat was a friend to many – and in many different circles. She played golf, mahjong, bingo, loved the beach, New York City where she was born, Broadway theatre, the opera and sports, she was an avid reader, a member of an Investment Club, the Rosary Altar Society, and loved to travel. Her biggest joy though, was being with her friends and her family. Pat is predeceased by her husband Jerry, parents William and Nora, brothers William and Fr. John, sister Helen, and grandson Jerry III. She is survived by her children Christine McDermott (Michael), Judith Lambiase, Gerard M. Cozzi (Addie), Gina Cozzi, Patricia Ciullo (Donald) and her loving grandchildren, each of whom she was extremely proud. On her gravestone, Mom asked us to write, “She did her best.” All who knew her would say she did that and more. She will be dearly missed by all who had the good fortune to have her in their lives.
